Basketball remained the Tri-Ute Games’ flagship sport in 2013. Over July 23 and 24, dozens of young athletes from the Southern Ute, Ute Mountain Ute and Northern Ute tribes faced off in the SunUte Community Center and Ignacio Junior High School gyms in Ignacio. On the first day, participants represented their own tribes in tribe-on-tribe matchups; on the second, teams were determined by draw to mix up the kids and encourage building new friendships.
